Preparing for the Holidays – Guest Bathroom Perfection

Tis’ the season for festive celebration and with those festive celebrations come holiday guests. Hosting can pose its challenges, but it’s only fair to note that packing up and traveling hundreds or thousands of miles to visit loved ones is equally exhausting! For many hosts, it’s important that visiting guests feel right at home so that they can sit back, relax, and enjoy their mini-vacation, and one simple way to put guests at ease is to have a well stocked bathroom. The best part? When they have everything they need to prepare for the day, you’re free to spend more time entertaining instead of searching for toiletries and towels!

Offering ample storage means your guests can keep things neat and tidy during their visit which is a total bonus for you as well. If your bathroom is lacking in the storage department, consider adding baskets near the vanity or shower. You can fill them with things like towels and hair dryers and it’s an extra space for your guests to store their toiletries!

Here are a few of our faves:

There’s nothing worse than getting out of the shower at someone else’s home to find that there’s not a towel in sight ( a la Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds in the “Proposal”). Having a fully stocked bathroom puts your guests at ease and we’ve fallen in love with the Abyss Super Pile Bath Towel! Made from long staple Giza 70 Egyptian cotton, it’s the thickest, most luxurious towel you will ever drape across your bod. If you’re in the Houston area, you can drop by Kuhl-Linscomb or Longoria Collection to see for yourself (check out the bath mat too!) or you can pick up a few of these cotton beauties online. Another brand we love is Matouk Cairo. Also crafted from long staple cotton, your guests will feel as if they just stepped out of the spa.

Pick up a few canisters and fill them with all of those pesky little items that your guests need but likely didn’t bring. We’re talking Q-Tips, cotton balls, makeup remover and razors. While it’s definitely not a necessity, placing these items in a clear canister will save your guest from having to hunt each time a need arises, and they look fabulous!

Soap Dispenser

These days, many soaps come in beautiful bottles, but we love using a chic dispenser! Not only does it save on the use of plastic, but it quickly elevates the look of any guest bath.

Adding in trays, napkins, and candles always makes a bathroom feel homey. Monogrammed paper napkins are a popular fave and once guests are done washing their hands, they can toss the towel in the waste basket which means less laundry for you! Drop by Paper Source to peruse a huge selection of customizable napkins. Lastly, candles create warmth and relaxation for those moments when guests are preparing in the morning or soaking in the tub at night.

One must never forget flowers! They’re the crown of the space and we generally opt for simple, sophisticated arrangements that boast some serious staying power, because who wants to be refreshing flowers every day? Guest-Bathroom-Storage-Vases-Prepare-Holidays-Marie-Flanigan-Interiors

We hope this round up has you feeling prepared for holiday visitors and that your season is filled with the creation of precious moments and memories to last a lifetime.
